This week the seventh and eighth grade students tested their toothpick bridges. A bucket was hooked to each bridge from below, and sand was slowly added to increase the weight supported. The students designed and built their bridges from toothpicks, string, and glue that had assigned costs. The goal of the project was to support the most weight with the lowest construction cost.
"2nd grade applied their knowledge of the human body to some artistic creations. We have been learning about all the different parts of the body. The red bead is a heart, pompom is a stomach,
q-tips are bones, beans are lungs, and the pipe cleaners are the intestines."
