Fun with the Letter I!

From the preschool: "The children all enjoyed our special days this week of instruments and sounds. They shared with us things that they had brought to class and topped the day off with a parade!  We also did many water experiments this week and we even were able to paint with frozen colored ice cubes that we made!  Next week some "Jungle Fun" with the letter J!"

Parent Hours Available

There are two upcoming opportunities to help out at Antioch and complete some parent hours.

On Friday March 7th starting at 2:30 PM, we need a cleaning crew to help get the school extra clean and shiny for our Open House.

On Sunday March 16th at 9 AM The Silent Auction Committee will be meeting at the school to assemble baskets for the auction.

Sign up in the office for either or both of these dates.  Thanks!

First Grade Self Portraits.

From Ms. Pyle's class: "The First Grade read "The Colors of Us" by Karen Katz and learned how no one is white or black.  In fact we discovered that all skin colors are made of the same colors: white, yellow, red, and brown.  We mixed these colors to paint our self portraits."

Antioch Artists

Last year, Ms. Carter's students in grades 3 - 7 participated in an art contest sponsored by Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.  Stellwagen Bank is New England's only marine sanctuary located between Cape Ann and Cape Cod, about 25 miles off the coast of Boston.  The contest was entitled 'Amazing Ocean Creatures of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary'. The contest received 726 entries from all over the country and 5 Antioch art students were recognized as having outstanding works of art.  Judges included professional artists, graphic designers, marine scientists, exhibit and public outreach specialists, government officials and other individuals familiar with sanctuary species. The winning artwork has been posted on the sanctuary website, and is currently on tour.
